Spending time with family is something I value. \u00a0So, when I got a call the other day from my cousin’s daughter to pick blueberries, I jumped at the chance! \u00a0Her mom, who lives two hours away, met us there, too! \u00a0We went early in the morning before the day heated up. \u00a0It was good fun catching up on what our families were up to this summer, and the added bonus was we picked over 15 pounds of plump juicy blueberries at the same time! \u00a0Now that I think of it, there was another bonus: I was reminded of a blueberry cobbler I used to make, and it’s a treat! \u00a0Add it all together, and you get lots of good stuff!<\/p>\n

\n3 – 4 cups blueberries
\n6-7 slices white bread with crust removed
\n1 egg
\n2 T. flour
\n1 \u00a01\/4 cups sugar
\n1 stick melted butter
\nDash of cinnamon and\/or nutmeg
\nVanilla ice cream<\/p>\n
\nPut fruit in the bottom of a 9″x 9″ buttered dish.
\nTear bread into pieces and place on top of fruit.
\nMelt butter and mix with flour, sugar, egg, and cinnamon.
\nDrizzle batter over bread.
\nBake for 35 – 40 minutes.
\nServe warm, topped with ice cream.
\nServes 8<\/p>\n
