Christmas is coming whether we’re ready or not, so it’s time to wrap things up!  Last weekend we finally got our big presents on the front porch.  We’ve done this in years past, but the presents were showing their age, so we started fresh.  The wreath wasn’t on the door when I took pics, but it’s in place now!

A very dear friend gave me this blackboard garland, and I did my best to chalk it!  I am definitely a beginner at the art, but sure do love the look!  Thanks, Dusty!!

The holiday potpourri is simmering on the stove, and the house smells like Christmas!  It’s fast and easy and is worth the little bit of effort it takes to get it going.  The recipe is below.

Speaking of wrapping things up, it’s time to wrap some gifts!!  This is something I really enjoy doing. I have loved using brown craft paper for years, but this year I decided to try and use chalk on it to embellish my presents!  Here are a few things I did!  It sure is quick!  Using greenery from outside is always a beautiful touch, too!  I may spend too much time wrapping presents, but I love every minute of it!

It’s time for all of us to put our feet up and enjoy the holidays with our families and friends!

Merry Christmas!

These ingredients will make 2 simmering pots of wonderful aroma!

1 orange
1 lemon
1 apple
Cinnamon sticks
anise stars
cloves

Cut orange, lemon, and apple in half.  Save one half of each fruit in a zip lock bag for future use.  Store in fridge.

Cut remaining halves into wedges and put in a small/medium sauce pan.  Cover with water.

Add 1 cinnamon stick, 1 anise star, and about 10 cloves to the pot of fruit and water.  Simmer on low, keeping an eye on the water level.  Continue to add water as needed.  You can do this for a day or two before disposing of it and starting fresh.
